Regulators

Our regulator rectifiers are available for single-phase, two-phase and three-phase generators. Typically, the three-phase type is bought for motorcycles, but customers also buy single-phase and very rarely two-phase type for motorcycles.

We also offer electronic ignition board (Trabant, Wartburg, MZ ES/TS) and other regulators (dynamo, MZ-ETZ, Lada, Skoda, Dacia)

Our regulator rectifier can be used universally for all motorcycles (powered by a three-phase generator) regardless of brand. Advantages of our product:

- It heats up less compared to previous rectifiers made with thyristor technology

- Thanks to this, you don't need the cooling effect of the driving wind (you can also install it under the body) and even if you install it next the exhaust the heat of it does not cause any problems

- More stable voltage regulation (adjusts to the desired voltage more precisely)

- Compatible with most motorcycles powered by three-phase generators with permanent magnet induction. You can read more about this by clicking here

The wires of the regulator rectifier are not equipped with a connector, we recommend soldering. If you insist on it, you can find connecting sets in the "Accessories" category.

The wirelength is approx. 25 cm long, which is long enough in most cases, but we also sell them with approx. 55 cm long wire.

 

After two decades of regulator rectifier production and almost ten thousand units sold, in addition to continuous development, our product is currently working with the combined application of the following two technologies:

 

MOSFET transistors

Thanks to this, the rectifier heats up less and the regulation is more stable, compared to a thyristor regulator rectifier.

The advantage of MOSFET technology is that it can ensure the charging of motorcycles equipped with average-power generators on the market without any problems, regardless of the installation location. The current what is not used by the electric network is returned by the MOSFETs to the generator (shunt regulation) with almost no loss, instead of the thyristors, which produce high heat loss.

 

Controller IC:

According to our past experience, the "normal" MOSFET rectifier on certain models (e.g. Honda VFR800 Vtec) could interfere with the operation of the injector. When the rectifier used together with the controller IC, this interference was eliminated.

"Normal" MOSFET rectifiers also operated at accaptable low temperatures. However, in the case of higher-powered generators, they were under greater stress. We were able to further reduce this heating with the controller IC.

Provides extra protection. If the battery is accidentally disconnected (e.g. the main fuse blows), the IC detects this and does not allow the voltage on the system to rise to a harmful level, thereby protecting electronic consumers.

Less load on the generator. Another advantage of IC control is that it evenly distributes the current load of individual phases. If you are more interested in controller IC technology, you can read more about it on our blog.

Our single-phase thyristor regulator rectifiers can be used for mopeds (eg Aixam, Ligier, Lombardini), Japanese compact tractors (eg Kubota, Yanmar, Iseki), motorcycles (single-phase only !!), other machines (eg diesel road rollers, rammer towed compressors, tar mixers, etc.) or for some ships and motorboats.

Universal voltage regulator 12V is also compatible with vehicles that have a regulator installed outside of the generator and have an excited rotor (ex-socialist cars, e.g.: Lada 1200, Skoda 105, Skoda 120, Dacia). Connecting the regulator is simple, we provide a specific wiring diagram for each brand.

The regulator is designed for a positive regulation system (in the case of a negative regulation system, you can switch to negative regulation next to the "Add to cart" button)

The voltage regulator works on a 12 volt (12V) system. The set (regulated) charging voltage is around 14.4V.

 

Abount the technologies:

MOSFET:
The development of semiconductors made it possible to use a MOSFET output stage in the universal regulator.
Advantages of the MOSFET transistor:
- Switching of larger currents with minimal heat. (the regulator may survive a short-circuited rotor if it occurs)
- The MOSFET is able to absorb significant momentary (hundreds of milliJoules) energy resulting from overvoltage. It is more likely to survive a possible self-induction energy of the rotor than the classic transistor. (This can happen, for example, if the brush is so worn that the brush-slip ring contact is uncertain)


Classic:

In the case of the classic technology, they perform the same function and performance as the above MOSFET and work perfectly under normal operating conditions (intact rotor, continuous contact between the brush and slip ring).

MZ ES/TS universal dynamo voltage regulator 6V can only be used to negative grounding motorcycle, for example:

- Jawa Czetka 

- MZ (ET/TS)

- IZS

- Ural

Dnepr 

 

By definition, only one of outputs DF(-) or DF(+) is used in a given case (depending on whether the system has negative or positive regulation). Incorrect connection will damage the regulator.

The regulator works on a 6-volt (6V) system. The regulator is set to 7.2V. This value can be fine-tuned with the trimmer potentiometer next to the terminal.

The terminal can accept a maximum of 2.5 mm2 twisted (blank) wire. If it is difficult to plug in a 2.5 mm2 wire, it is easier to plug in the elementary wires (the blanked wire) by slightly twisting them (to make them cohesive). If plugging in still fails, 4-5 basic strands can be removed with pliers to make plugging in easier.

MZ ES / TS 6V / 12V electronic ignition board for 6V and 12V motorcycles.

The currently selected product is a 12V electronic ignition board. You can switch to the 6V product in the "MZ type" drop-down menu next to the basket button.

The mechanical circuit breaker can be easily replaced with this part.

The ignition motherboard contains the power output stage, so there is no separate output stage module ("black box").

The ignition works on the principle of optoreflux, so the dynamic magnetic field of the dynamo does not interfere with stable operation.

Trabant 601 electronic ignition 12V

It can be used together with a flyweight pre-ignition regulator.

It includes the power output stage, so there is no need for a separate "black box". The transistors for switching the ignition coils are located directly on its circuit board, and there is no need for an external control unit, as with the original EBZA (electronic battery ignition system).

It must be installed in the place of the original circuit breaker motherboard and it already works.

The requirement of the installation is the existing circuit breaker with the block weight (from the ignition interrupter). Only original large ignition coils with number 8352.101/6 or original small ignition coils are allowed.

IMPORTANT!

The ignition base plate is not suitable as a transmitter unit for the original EBZA!

It can only be used with a spark plug connector with interference-suppressed. (R = 5-10 kΩ)

 

The electric ignition is compatible with Wartburg 353 and Barkas.

It includes the power output stage, so there is no need for a separate "black box".

The ignition system is designed to convert from the previous contact breaker to contactless ignition in case of Wartburg 353 and Barkas B1000 models. The ignition base plate is connected directly to the ignition coils. To install, simply replace the contact breaker with the new ignition base plate and connect the transmitter.

Ignition timing only needs to be adjusted on one cylinder, as all sensors are fixed at exactly 120 degrees.

 

The power supply and encoder are combined on one circuit board, so there is no additional external housing as with the original Stahnsdorf EBZA. To use contactless ignition, the contact breaker ignition base plate must be removed beforehand.
